What is Flexbuild Phone Store?

Flexbuild Phone Store is an online depository where you can store your phone numbers and contact details by sms from your mobile phone. At present this facility is available only to networks in Nigeria. However the directory service is available to anyone all over the world.

We pick up your sms messages and store the contact details in them in safe and secures stores we would have created for you. Once we get your contact details in the sms messages you send, we send you an acknowledgement, also by sms and advise on how to retrieve your stored contact details.

Sending messages to the phone store is as simple as A B C - Three easy steps.

Step A. Compose sms, specify name and phone number to store. Name and contact number should be separated by a space. At the end of the number entry, add space and begin another record starting with the name followed by a space and number and the sequence goes on.

Here is an example:
Dada     08023456789    Dudu     08098765432     Dodo      08087654321............

 
Typically a single sms should contain about 10 contact details. You may send as many contacts as you want in one message. If you exceed the number of characters permitted by sms files, your message will be split automatically into the appropriate number of messages and sent accordingly.

Step B. Send your sms to 1234. Please be sure that your message is properly composed or formatted.

Step C. Wait for an acknowledgement. If your message was properly composed and formatted, you should get an sms confirming that we have received your message and indicating many numbers were saved by the message(s) you just sent. If there was an error the sms will tell you the error.

There are two ways to retrieve your numbers from the Flexbuild Phone Store.

METHOD 1 - The sms option:

Here you simply send an sms to 1234 and put in the name to look for.

Here is an example.

If you have stored contact details for "Dodo" and you want to retrieve these details by sms, you compose a message and type in "Dodo" in the body of the message. Then send to 1234. You get a response showing you numbers stored against all occurrences of "Dodo". Please note that you are charged for every sms you send to this number.

METHOD 2 - The Web Portal:

 The first time you send an sms with your contacts to be stored in the Flexbuild Phone store, you are automatically registered. You get an acknowledgement sms telling you among other things, the link to the phone store website and your PIN. If you visit the website at http://www.flexbuildit.net/phonestore you can log in as a registered user. Supply your phone number and PIN. You are then prompted to change your PIN for security reasons.

Once done you are shown a summary page of your stored contacts. The summary page tells you the total number of stored contacts you have in your store and also the number of those stored contacts who are registered with the Flexbuild Phone Store Service and are listed in the public directory. On these listed contacts, you can view more information than you have stored. You can view your stored contact details and more for free. Once logged on to your phone store with your phone number and PIN, you are presented with a summary list of your stored contacts.

As you pass the cursor over the rows of data, the row in focus changes color. To view details of any record or to edit any of the records, click on the "edit" icon beside the highlighted record. You are then given more information, if available, on the selected contact. Here you can edit the stored details and save. You can also delete the entire record if you wish.

When you log on to the Flexbuild Phone Store portal for the first time, you are prompted and presented with an option to join the directory. If you have read the Terms of Service , and you choose to be listed in the directory, depending on the registration type you choose, you will be taken to a registration page.

The registration page contains a number of fields, some of which are required. The information required on the registration page is essentially to identify you on in the directory and for authentication purposes in cases of forgotten PIN or suspected intrusion.

Once Directory Registration is completed successfully, you have been listed in the telephone directory and your contact details will be listed in searches for which you meet the required criteria.                                                                                                                                                  Back to top

Searching the Phone Store Directory is easy. You can search for an individual or for a company.

To search for an individual, click "Search for a friend" in the Phone Store Directory page. We have provided a very flexible search arrangement. Please provide all the details you know about the contact you are searching for. Even nicknames will do for the search.

In searching for a company, provide the name of the company or the state the company is located or the industry the company is in or simply indicate the type of company it is. Please note here that the more search information you provide the narrower your search becomes for the corporate search.

After providing these information, clicking on "Search" or "Submit" will trigger a search and return results if available.                                                                                                                Back to top

Only Nigerian GSM networks are supported by the Phone Store application. To activate your account, simply send the first sms message containing your contact details to be stored. Your account is automatically created and activated. To deactivate your account you either send a mail to deactivate@flexbuildit.net from the email address you provided while registering or you send an sms to 1234 from your mobile phone with the word "Deactivate".                                                                                                                                       Back to top

Other than the tariff charged for every sms sent to 1234, everything is free. The only charge comes from sending sms to 1234. All other services and modules are free.
